Anoushka Shankar

Anoushka Shakar, the American and British sitar artist. She was the youngest and first woman to receive a British House of Commons Shield she's had 9 Grammy Awards nominations and was the first musician of Indian origin to perform live on stage and also be a presenter for the award ceremony. Anoushka Shakar is a promising young emerging superstar on the Indian Sitar is Anoushka. She's the child of Ravi Shankar and a former student. Born in London She spent her first few years of her life bouncing between London and New Delhi. In New Delhi, she made her debut at just thirteen years old. Later she moved to Encinitas CA where she graduated from High School with honours in 1999. Anouskha still has a promising performing and recording careers, even though she's young. She regularly accompanies her father in performances this she's done for a number of years. She released her first solo album Anourag in 1998. She released the album Live At Carnegie Hall, a Grammy-nominated album two years later. In addition to performing in all of the largest venues and venues, she also is a stage performer for a lengthy time. Her career extends beyond the realm of music. Anoushka was a part of her father on his worldwide tour, gained an impressive amount of experience. As a teenager, she appeared at Carnegie Hall as part of Peter Gabriel's WOMAD and recorded alongside George Harrison. She was the only female recipient of the House of Commons Shield awarded by the British Parliament in recognition of her talent and musical ability as an outstanding musician from music in Asian Arts.
