Taylor Swift is Taylor Alison Swift. Taylor Swift is an American country singer and songwriter. Taylor Swift's tales tell the story of heartbreak and loss for a young girl. Swift was a fan of music from a young age, and quickly moved from roles in children's theatre until her first performance before a crowd of thousands. Swift was 11 years old when she first performed The Star-Spangled Banner at a Philadelphia 76ers basketball game. In the following year Swift began to write songs and got a guitar. Swift had taken her ideas from Shania's music and The Dixie Chicks now known as The Chicks in the world of country music, composed the original songs she wrote to express her experience with alienation. In the year 13 Swift's parents sold their property in Pennsylvania to move into Hendersonville Tennessee so she could dedicate more time in courting the country music labels in nearby Nashville.
